Tips to cope with the rising cost of Individual healthcare insurance
Private healthcare insurance costs more and more all the time. Recently I was Quite Surprised to learn that the health insurance companies I work with raised their rates by as much as 20%. At this rate, in about three years prices will double. This causes a lot of people a lot of financial pain. A lot of them simply cannot possibly afford these pricing increases. These high prices particularly in an economic environment where many believe that we are already in a recession, makes quality health care unaffordable to far too many of of us.
If you are concerned and trying to find ways to afford these outrageous prices. The ideas below may help you reduce your costs for health care and health coverage.
Excise no longer desired Extras First, do you have optional insurance riders that you no longer want?
Maternity insurance is probably most expensive optional benefit. If you no longer want this coverage, be sure to tell your agent and
you may bring the cost of health insurance down to a more reasonable level.
Prescription coverage may be the kind of things that cost more than they are worth. Give serious thought dropping any of these optional coverages.
Look at Health Savings Account Compatible Plans
Secondly, consider purchasing a higher deductible plan
